Interparliamentary Conference “Independent and Modern Public Administration” 

Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia comprised of the MPs: Hari Lokvenec, Petar Atanasov and Nevenka Stamenkovska, participated in the Interparliamentary Conference “Independent and Modern Public Administration” organized by the Parliament of Montenegro and the European Parliament, held in Danilovgrad, Montenegro.  

Members of the European Parliament, Members of Committees of the European Parliament, representatives of the Western Balkan and Turkey attended the Conference.  

The European Principles for the public administration as one of the fundamental policies for EU enlargement was one of the topics of the debate. 

An overall support for improvement of the public administration, in the context of enhanced integration of the Western Balkan States and Turkey was expressed at the Conference. Also, the European institutions were called upon to accelerate the integration of Western Balkan and Turkey, since the region belongs to Europe and the states must be encouraged in their efforts on the path to EU. The European Union must go hand in hand with the Western Balkan states and Turkey on their path, so the required criteria in the European standard and the capacities of the applicant states can be fulfilled. 

The participants gave their remarks for the needed preparations of the parliaments for accession negotiations and in the framework thereof, the needed administrative structures and capacitate to support the process.
