Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Milan Brglez, PhD
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Milan Brglez, PhD. This is the first official visit of a President of Parliament to the Republic of Macedonia in this parliamentary composition.
At the beginning of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed pleasure from the opportunity to meet and discuss the current challenges both states are faced with.
During the meeting, the President Xhaferi informed the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Milan Brglez on the work of the Assembly, the local elections, as well as the dynamics of implementation of 3 – 6 – 9 Plan.
In regard with the bilateral cooperation, the interlocutors underlined that it is good, though it can be deepen and broadened, especially in the scope of the parliamentary diplomacy. The two Parliaments cooperate in the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the South East European Process of Cooperation (SEECP PA), which is currently presided by the Republic of Slovenia and which is an important forum for strengthening and widening the regional cooperation.
It was also underlined that the Republic of Slovenia continuously supports the Republic of Macedonia in the process of the Euro – Atlantic Integrations, since the overall integration of the Region contributes in strengthening of the of the stability, peace and prosperity of the Region. Also, the interlocutors referred to the migrant crisis, the conditions and the measures taken by the Republic of Macedonia together with the partner states, among which is the Republic of Slovenia.
The President Xhaferi expressed appreciation for the support Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Macedonia on regional and on international level and underlined that the Republic of Macedonia is always supports the Republic of Slovenia in its states.
At the end of the meeting, the presidents agreed that these meetings are a positive example for future cooperation and improvement of the overall relations between the two states in all areas.
