Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Fabio Massimo Castaldo
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Fabio Massimo Castaldo, who participated in the Young Leaders’ Conference organized by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the European Parliament, focused on the youth participation and the youth policies and attended by MPs from Western Balkan.
The President Xhaferi expressed appreciation to the European Parliament for the continuous support on our Euro – integration process, demonstrating that they strongly support our strategic aims. He also informed Mr. Castaldo on the activities in the past period in direction of increasing the visibility of the legislative house, which contributed in raising the ranking of the Assembly in the public. Underlining that we are witnessing a historic moment, to reach the doors of the European Union after three decades, Mr. Xhaferi also informed the guest on the preparations for the referendum taken by the Assembly as authorised bearer of the activities.
The Vice President Castaldo welcomed the dedication of the institutions to surpass the obstacles and progress, underlining the vital role of the Assembly, He reaffirmed the preparedness of the European parliament to continue its role as key supporter and partner of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in the future, both on political and on expert level. Considering the referendum, Mr. Castaldo underlined that it is important for the citizens to vote and express their opinion, while the boycott of the referendum is boycott of democracy.
