Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia met with Helene Conway-Mouret, Vice President of the French Senate and a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces in the French Senate.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT SASSOLI

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Mr. David Maria Sassoli, who, after taking office, made his first visit outside the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia.

I am pleased to have the opportunity, on behalf of the Members of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on my own behalf, to deliver my address at this Conference before my colleagues, Presidents of Parliaments of the South East European countries and the Visegrad Group, and express my deep respect for your constant support and sincere friendship, as evidenced by your presence here and the Joint Declaration, a product of this forum. At today's meeting, the President of the Assembly, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, and the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of North Macedonia, Ms. Rossana Dudziak exchanged information and ideas on how to deepen the cooperation between the UN bodies and the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi and the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey, composed of Enes Ibrahim, Chairman and Amdi Bajram, Yusuf Hasani, Teuta Biljali and Dragan Shuklev, members of the Parliamentary Group, met today with a delegation from the Macedonia – Turkey Chamber of Commerce (MATTO), led by MATTO President, Aydovan Ademoski and including Vice Presidents - Imer Selmani and Turhan Ademi and Executive Director Shahpaz Molaliev.

Address of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia at the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament on the topic "Our Common European Home": the next 70 years

Allow me, on behalf of the Members of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on my own behalf to congratulate everyone on the marking of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Council of Europe, the leading human rights organization on the continent, with 47 European member states, which aside from being on the same continent, have one more, very important thing in common, that is, they are signatories of the European Convention on Human Rights, which is actually a treaty for the protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

PRESIDENT XHAFERI MEETS WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF SERBIA, MAJA GOJKOVIĆ

President Maja Gojković expressed her gratitude to the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia for their participation in the 141. IPU Assembly at high presidential level, as well as her pleasure that the parliamentary relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia are highly developed, with numerous meetings both at bilateral, and multilateral level.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION TO IPU

The Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), led by President Talat Xhaferi, had a meeting today with the Australian delegation to the IPU, led by Lucy Wicks, MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Australia. The meeting was held within the framework of the 141. IPU Assembly, held from 13-17 October 2019 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.
