Welcome address by the President Xhaferi at the Young Political Leaders Conference on topic "Bridging the gap between youth and politics"

Allow me, at the beginning to wish all our guests a pleasant sty in Skopje, at the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, and certainly to wish you a successful work at the Conference beginning today, and which according to the title "Bridging the gap" shall discuss on the High level dialogue on youth participation and youth policies with parliamentarians in the Western Balkans.

Today, we are here together to deliver a strong message on the necessity of this process that is expected to be crowned by the referendum on September 30th when our conscience as citizens, but also as parents and neighbours will have a more complete sense, because our common homeland - Macedonia, will finally be included in the family of civilized nations, both in political and economic terms, as well as in the security aspect.

ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT XHAFERI ON THE OCCASION OF 8th OF SEPTEMBER

8th of September, together with the two Ilindens, is the tripod the Republic of Macedonia is founded and built on. If the generations of Ilinden 1903 and Ilinden 1944 fought bravely, distinctively and followed their vision, many of whom gave their lives; the citizens on 8th September 1991, also followed their vision and bravely voted - the majority translated this referendum decision into constitutional and legal framework providing the Republic of Macedonia to be recognized as sovereign and independent identity by the international community. Thus allow me today, on my personal behalf and on behalf of all attendees and I am convinced that I speak on behalf of all citizens, to express appreciation to the Members of the firs composition of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The globalization processes, aside many benefits, bare various challenges which jeopardize the world peace. This refers to the extreme forms of radicalism which is often hidden behind the wrong or twisted explanation of particular religion and is manifested through terrorism.
