MEETING OF MS. SVETLANA JAKIMOVSKA AND H.E. JUHA OTMAN

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska had a protocol meeting with H.E. Juha Otman, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Macedonia, located in Zagreb.

At the meeting, Ms. Jakimovska, on behalf of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and on her personal behalf, congratulated Mr. Otman for the appointment as a Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Macedonia, underlining that they are informed on the good political relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Finland. She also expressed appreciation for the support of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Macedonia for its priority issue- membership in the European Union.

In her address, Ms. Jakimovska underlined the well known opinion of Finland on open doors of the European Union for enlargement with new member States.

The Vice President Jakimovska informed the Ambassador that the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia has established Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Finland, Chaired by Ms. Jakimovska.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Otman stated that this meeting is a good basis for further cooperation, underlining that he will be a Director on Enlargement with the Western Balkan and that this will be a good opportunity to have an insight of the events in the Region. 

He reaffirmed that Finland supports the policy of Enlargement and opening doors of the European Union with new Member States, because this will benefit both, the European Union and the member States of the Union. 

In the end of the meeting, the Vice President, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska wished the Ambassador successful mandate underlining that this meeting is only the beginning of the successful cooperation.
