Address of the President Veljanoski on the Occasion of the Ceremonial Opening of the Grand Hall in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia
Distinguished attendees,
Ladies and gentlemen,
After six years, today, we can finally proudly say that the most elaborate and complex reconstruction, superstructure and adaptation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia are completed.
Three parliamentary compositions were marked by the execution of this particularly complex and grandeurs construction.
When the construction workers were executing their complex tasks, the MPs, together with the Staff and journalists executed theirs.
The undisputed labor of people who were part of the renewal of the Macedonian Parliament is completely visible and a reason for admiration, but I believe that we, who had our own tasks in the Assembly building, have also left deeds for Macedonia as well.
The Assembly pulses in its full glory.
Projected pursuant to the highest standards, we leave the future generations a representative building that represents the pride of Macedonia.
We leave the future generations a building of more than 18.000m2, in which, I believe many significant projects for our state will be realized.
Equipped with the most modern technology, new facilities for the Staff, journalists and MOS, as well as with the reconstruction of the existing facilities, the Macedonian Parliament will proudly welcome all benevolent visitors, as well as all representatives of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.
In this context, allow me to sincerely thank all colleagues – members of the previous parliamentary compositions, as well as the Assembly Staff, journalists and all friends of the Parliament for their patience during this most complex and elaborate reconstruction since the construction of this building back in 1938.
Dear friends,
The Parliamentary building fully tracks the historic processes to the realization of the statehood of our motherland, Chronologically, this object stood against all ordeals that were part of the history of Macedonia.
Located in the centre of the Capital, the building of the Macedonian parliament, shared its destiny with the people for whom it exists.
However, today, when our Motherland is sovereign and independent, this greatest reconstruction carries a significant symbolic message.
Namely, the development and the modernization of this building, symbolizes strive for development and modernization of the Republic of Macedonia.
Today, the renewed Macedonian Assembly is here to live through all centuries, as a fundamental object around which the ultimate goal for preservation and improvement of the independence of our Motherland pulsates.
Considering the above, I proclaim the renewal of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia as finalized and invite you to watch a video as a small segment of the new value we leave as heritage to the Motherland.
