Parliament Speaker Mr. Talat Xhaferi meets the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mrs. Tulin Erkal Kara 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi today had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Mrs. Tulin Erkal Kara. 

While congratulating the election of Mr. Talat Xhaferi as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ambassador, Mrs. Tulin Erkal Kara underlined that the events taking place in the Republic of Macedonia and the overcoming of the political crisis are closely followed by the Republic of Turkey without interfering in the internal affairs of the country. 

She also emphasized that as an experienced politician and a former MP, the latest developments in the Republic of Macedonia that took place on April 27th 2017 have profoundly upset her and voiced the hope that with the election of the new government the political instability in the country will be overcome.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi underlined that he highly appreciates the friendship with the Republic of Turkey, especially the productive cooperation that he has with the Turkish counterparts as a former Minister of Defense and a former chief of the Delegation in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Xhaferi expressed hope that the productive cooperation at parliamentary level will continue to deepen both between the Parliament Speakers of the two Assemblies and between the Parliamentary groups for cooperation and friendship. Regarding the events of April 27th, the President of the Assembly outlined that there have been taken preventive measures for such developments never to repeat again in the future. 

Interlocutors agreed that the overall relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey are characterized with the traditional friendship, mutual understanding and active cooperation, and voiced determination that this trend will also continue in the future.
