Meetings of the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia with the President of NDI, Members of the Congress, representatives from the Macedonian Diaspora, as well as with Representative from the State Department responsible for Macedonia

At the meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Veljanoski and the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Makraduli, the President of NDI Mr. Kenneth Wollack said that the success of the Macedonian Assembly during the past period resulted in Macedonia being a model for parliamentary development. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation, and emphasized their will for continuing the cooperation.

President Veljanoski met with Congressmen Bill Pascrel and Kristopher Smith, and used the opportunity to inform them about the latest developments in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as to express gratitude for their support. “The citizens of the Republic of Macedonia are strongly committed to the EU and NATO integration, which for us, the politicians, is an additional responsibility to work hard until this process is concluded. The citizens of the Republic of Macedonia especially appreciate the support the United States gave Macedonia in Bucharest, and this respect can only be increased in future”, said Mr. Veljanoski. 

Congressmen Bill Pascrel and Kristopher Smith expressed their readiness for full support of the Republic of Macedonia. Congressman Pascrel emphasized that the progress of Macedonia is acknowledged in the US, and said that it could be an example for achieving good results during an unstable period. 

The Macedonian Delegation also met with Ms. Nancy McEldowney, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, who expressed her acknowledgment for the strategic commitment of the Republic of Macedonia for Euro-Atlantic integration. She said that the Macedonian leaders have done an excellent job for their country, for the citizens, and at the same time have gained a true friend, and added that the US will assist Macedonia in the realization of its goals.

During the visit to the USA, the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia also met with representatives of the United Macedonian Diaspora in the Macedonian Embassy in Washington.
