Meeting between the Macedonian MPs with Mr. Gutietrez Vegara Antonio, MP from the Parliament of Spain
MPs from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia had a meeting with Mr. Gutietrez Vegara Antonio, MP from the Parliament of the Kingdom of Spain. Spanish experts, participants on the Conference “Spain-Macedonia: Comparative Approach for Strategic Partnership for European Integration” attended this meeting.
Aleksandar Spasenovski, Liljana Popvska, Vasko Shutarov, Panche Dameski and Kristina Runcheva participated in the debate.
Co-Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, Mr. Spasenovski, stated that the European Integration is the key priority of the the Republic of Macedonia and underlined the aspiration to visa regime liberalization and date for opening accession negotiations.
Mr. Gutietrez Vegara Antonio stated that this meeting is an opportunity to acquaint with the present ideas, contributions and doubts, in order the Republic of Macedonia to overcome the obstacles in the process of Eurpean Integration.
He expressed his expectations that the Report from the European Committee on the Republic of Macedonia will be positive and that the differences in the name issue will be excelled.
The Spanish experts were interested for te degee on which Macedonia is willing to compromise regarding the name issue, what is the Assembly’s opinion regarding the abortion, the role of the women in the social life and the women rights, as well as the participation of the civil sector in the European isses.
The general conclusion is that this visit and the oncoming Spanish Presidency over the European Union will open the cooperation possibilioties between the Republic of Macedonia and Spain.
