Meeting of the Committee on European Issues and the Delegation from the Committee on European Integrations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia
The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Petar Pop-Arsov and the members of the Committee on European Issues had a meeting with the Members of the Committee on European Integrations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
Mr. Pop-Arsov introduced the members of the Committee and talked about the competences of the Committee. He emphasized that the all the political parties represented in the Assembly have their members in the Committee, and that the Committee considers the laws and controls their harmonization with the EU legislation.
Mr. Pop-Arsov said that an integral part of the work of the Committee on European Issues is the parliamentary democracy, and it cooperates closely with the Committees on European Issues from the neighbouring countries and the region. Also, he underlined the priorities of the Committee: the visa regime liberalization and getting the date for opening of the accession negotiations with the EU.
The tow sides also discussed the issues which require mutual will and cooperation.
It was pointed out that the mutual cooperation should continue and the good neighbourly relations should be strengthened, in order to accelerate the accession process.
