Republic of Macedonia remains dedicated to further development of the good-neighborly relations and cooperation in the region, as well as to complete implementation of the Euro-Atlantic agenda

Delegation of the Republic of Macedonia composed of  Mr. Talat Dzaferi,  Head of Delegation, Vlado Buckovski and Pavle Trajanov, member of the Delegation participated at the celebration of NATO 60th Anniversary that took place on 11 of May in the Italian Senate Plenary Hall.

The event was attended  by around 200 MPs from 38 delegations of member and associate countries of the NATO Parliamentary Delegations, that work together to protect the values of freedom, democracy  and solidarity, i.e. the fundamental values enshrined in the Washington Treaty establishing NATO.

Vlado Buckovski welcoming this event emphasize that the Republic of Macedonia remains dedicated to further development of the good-neighborly relations and cooperation in the region, as well as to complete implementation of the Euro-Atlantic agenda.  He outlined that the clear Euro-Atlantic perspective of the countries in the region, their membership in NATO and the EU, are the driving force for the stabilization and the sustainable democratic development of the countries in the region.

He concluded that the security and stability of the Western Balkans clearly and definitely is associated with NATO. In this context, there can be no doubt that the geo-strategic interest of the Alliance is that the Republic of Macedonia becomes a member of NATO, and it has been confirmed by NATO in continuity - it leads to finalization of the process of “Europe - whole and free and at peace”.
