THE DELEGATION FROM THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA HEADED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI HAD A MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY, MR. MEHMET ALI ŞAHIN

The Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, headed by the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski comprised by the MPs Mr. Kenan Hasipi, Mr. Cvetko Grozdanov, Mr. Naziv Bushi and Mr. Andrej Zernovski had a meeting with the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Ali Şahin.  

On the meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, Mr. Mehmet Ali Şahin concluded that the relations between the two states are constantly deepening and are a result of the values, common for these two states, such as democracy, the rule of law, respect of the human rights and freedoms, should be an example for other states. 

He underlined the satisfaction that the Republic of Turkey is one of the first states which recognised the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name and is gladly supporting the Republic of Macedonia in all international levels. He considers that the Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Republic of Macedonia means prosperity and stability for the Balkans and in the same time expressed hope that the only obstacle on the Macedonia's path towards the EU, the name issue, will be solved in near future and that the Republic of Macedonia can rely on its positive relation with the Republic of Turkey. 

The President Mehmet Ali Şahin referred to the interest of the Turkish business sector for the Republic of Macedonia as well as the reconstruction of the Ottoman buildings in the Republic of Macedonia, which are considered to be mutual treasure. 

The President Veljanoski, expressing his appreciation for the support from the Republic of Turkey, underlined that the relations between the two states are more than friendly and that they have significant role in the overall stability of the region. He expressed his conviction that regardless of the problems which are slowing down the integration, they will be overbridged and that the both states will be part of the European Union. 

The President Veljanoski underlined that the Turkish Community in the Republic of Macedonia and the Macedonian community in the Republic of Turkey are significant subject and a bridge between the two states. He underlined the loyalty, the active presents and the overall contribution that this Community is providing for the economic, cultural and democratic development of the Republic of Macedonia.
