24th Meeting of the Committee on Defence and Security 

The Committee on Defence and Security from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, on its 24th meeting, held on 29 January 2010, as a competent working body, reviewed the Draft-law on Army Service in the Republic of Macedonia- I reading and debated on the Draft-law on Testing Proscription, i.e. Marking Weapons and Munitions

The Minister on Defence, Mr. Zoran Konjanovski, as a Government Representative underlined the reforms, the need for amending this law which stipulates the rights and obligations of the civil and military staff in the Army. The Minister underlined the opportunity for permanent solution of the housing issue of the Army staff, through partly subvention of the expenses by the Ministry of Defence. 

The Committee concluded that the Draft-law on Army Service in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is acceptable and that it  should proceed to further reading in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. 

This Committee also debated on the Draft-law on Testing Proscription, i.e. Marking Weapons and Munitions, the proposers of the amendments Mr. Goran Minchev, Mr. Mende Dinevski and Mr. Goran Sugarevski as well as the Minister on Defence participated in the debate.
The committee concluded that the Draft-law on Testing Proscription, i.e. Marking Weapons and Munitions is acceptable and that it should proceed to further reading in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
