Committee on Financing and Budget reviewed the Draft-law on State Audit

The Committee on Financing and Budget, on its 56th Meeting held on 18 March 2010, as a competent working body reviewed the Draft-law on State Audit (first reading).

The Vice-minister on Finances, Mr. Nedim Ramizi elaborated the proposed law. He stated that the Draft-law was in direction of strengthening the operational and financial independence of the State Audit Institute and in line with the increased effectiveness of the enforcement. The goal is to strengthen the position, role and independence of the State Audit Institute, harmonizing the legal regulations with Mexico, the Declaration of Independence and the Supreme Audit Institutions and with Lima Declaration which defines the audit rules and directions.  

MPs Jovan Manasijevski, Vladanka Avirovik, Goran Misovski, Krsto Mukovski and Marjancho Nikolov participated in the debate.  

The Committee, with 6 votes “for” and 3 “against” concluded that the Draft-law on State Audit is acceptable and that it should proceed to further reading in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
