Macedonia demonstrated that the technology can assist the process of increasemen of the transparency, openness and accountabilty   

„We are seriously determined to continue the further promotion of the democracy in every area of the world. We have to increase the public trust towards the parliaments and to confirm that "There is no democracy without strong parliament", underlined Mr. Jani Makraduli, Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, who is participating on the 3rd World Conference of the Speakers of Parliaments, which is organized by IPU, from 19 to 21 July. He also underlined that a strong message must be sent and there must be actions aiming to face all challenges. Priorities the world is facing with must remain on the top of the agendas, and, he underlined that the top priority is the global democratic accountability. 

The Vice-President, Mr. Jani Makraduli agreed with the Speakers from France and Estonia that the Information Technology significantly contributes in the process of incensement of the accountability, as is it quoted in the IPU Report on the E-Parliaments for 2009 that " the case of Macedonia demonstrates that the technology can assist the process of incensement of the transparency, openness and accountability". He underlined that the development of the information technology is very important for the protection of the human rights, especially among the young generation. The Parliaments and IPU should open the issue on protection of children on internet and the danger behind the social networks on the internet. 

More that 150 Speakers participated on the 3rd World Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments, on the topic " Parliaments in a world of crisis: securing global democratic accountability for the common good"   

Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of UN, opened the Conference and underlined that the he is conveying the voice of the nations in the work of the UN. In this manner the global issues are integrated in the work of the national assemblies around the world. He called on deepening the strategic partnership in the time of crisis and asked the parliaments to demonstrate leadership in three areas: ratification of the agreements on climate changes, nuclear disarmament and economic development, and to be the force for the stability of the states, to develop the democracy and to create prosperity. 

The Conference ended with the unanimous adoption of the declaration which reads that the accountability and the responsibility of the parliaments are the essence of the democracy.
