Meeting between the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Ms. Ulrike Maria Knotz

The Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska  had a meeting with the Ambassador of  the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Ms. Ulrike Maria Knotz  and the scholarship student of the International Parliamentary Practice. 

The Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska  expressed her pleasure for the opportunity, for the second time to realise a program on the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia , as a preparation for the study visit of the Bundestag by the scholarship students of the IPS Project 2010. She underlined that there are three candidates from the Republic of Macedonia , Emil Amedov, Hamidi Shahini and Dalibor Trendafilovski, and this is a demonstration of the good preparedness of the candidates. 

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia  makes efforts to fatherly promote the International Parliamentary Scholarship, which is an annual project which grants scholarships for Macedonian participants. Its aim is to promote this project in the Republic of Macedonia, its affirmation and attraction of young professionals qualified for this scholarship. 

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia , through the Ministry of Culture, prepared materials which will be used by the students for promotion of the Republic of Macedonia in Germany. On this occasion Ms. Jakimovska stated that these students are our informal ambassadors and they are expected to properly represent our country. 

The Ambassador of  the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Ms. Ulrike Maria Knotz  expressed gratitude for the support of the Republic of Macedonia and stated that the communication between the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the German Bundestag are of great importance, and the students who already have been to the Bundestag are the bridge between the two countries. 

Emil Amedov, Hamidi Shahini and Dalibor Trendafilovski,, participants in the IPC 2010 stated that the visit of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is very important, because the acquaintance with the work of the MPs and of the working bodies will be an opportunity to compare the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia with the work in the German Bundestag

The International parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) 2009 is a traditional activity of the German Bundestag, that is the German parliament and the Technological University, Free University and the Humboldt University from Berlin, and it is an opportunity for the young grandaunt students from the South-Eastern Europe to be introduced with the parliamentary sistem in Germany. 

The participants in this project and socially engaged young people from many SIE countries, interested in working in the public administration and in the public life of their countries (media, parties, university education). The elected candidates will work directly in the offices of the German MPs for 5 months. They are included and introduced with the MPs’ work, they participate in the preparation of activities together with other employees. Sometimes they participate in the re-election activities and organise meetings with the citizens. The elected candidates will work with the MPs from the German Bundestag interested to develop relations with the Western Balkan countries, especially the Republic of Macedonia.
