MEETING OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE ON EUROPEAN ISSUES MR. PETAR POP ARSOV WITH THE DELEGATION OF THE FOREIGN POLICY COMMITTEE FROM THE SENATE OF ROMANIA 

The Chairman of the Committee on European Issues, Mr. Petar Pop Arsov, and the Members of the Committee: Ms. Slavica Grkovska Loshkova, Ms. Vladanka Avirovik, Mr. Aleksandar Spasenovski, Mr. Panche Damevski and Mr. Jovan Lazarov had a meeting with the Delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee from the Senate of Romania, headed by the Chairman of the Committee Mr. Titus Korlacean. 

The Delegation was comprised of: Mr. Georgica Severin, Mr. Romeo Nikoara, as well as H.E. Adrian Konstantinesku, Ambassador of the Republic of Romania to the Republic of Macedonia. 

At the beginning Mr. Pop Arsov welcomed the guests and expressed hope that this meeting will be held in the spirit of friendship, like the friendship which exists  between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Romania. 

The Chairman informed the participants for the composition and the competences of the Committee and expressed appreciation for the unselfish support provided by the Republic of Romania for our country in the Euro-Integration process, through the acknowledgement of our constitutional name. 

Mr. Korlacean underlined the good friendly relations between the two countries and stated that in the future the economic cooperation should be deepened. He greeted the abolishment of the visas for the Republic of Macedonia and expressed hope that the Republic of Macedonia will receive a date on opening negotiations with EU during the Spanish Presidency. 

The Chairman of the Committee on European issues underlined the importance of consensus of every political party and of the citizens and the 95% citizens support membership in NATO and EU.
