Public Debate on “Faster Integration and Inclusion of the Roma Community ion the Republic of Macedonia”
On the occasion of the International Roma Day, 8th April, the Public Debate on “Faster Integration and Inclusion of the Roma Community ion the Republic of Macedonia” was held in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. The Public Debate was opened by the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski.
Mr. Vasko Naumovski, Vice Prime-Minister on European Integration, The Vice Prime Minister, Mr. Abdulakjim Ademi, The Deputy Ambassador of United Stated of America to the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Thomas Navratil, The Head of the OSCE Mission to Macedonia, Mr. Jose Luis Herero, UNDP Representative to Macedonia Mr. Deidre Boyd and the Executive Director of the Community of the Local Self-Governance Units of the Republic of Macedonia , Mr. Dushica Perishik and the Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Amdi Bajram participated in the Public Debate.
It was underlined that the Roma Community is the biggest minority in Europe and that the Republic of Macedonia is the leader in the area of the rights of the Roma Community but also that there is much more to be done.
The aim of the Decade of Roma Inclusion is to provide better life for Roma Community.
