The uninterrupted euro-integrative process in the key priority for the Republic of Macedonia 

The Chairman of the Committee on European Issues from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Petar Pop-Arsov participated in the Conference of the Chairmen of the Committees on European Issues from the Member States of the EU- COSAC, which was held in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium, on 4 and 6 July 2010. 

The conference referred to the priorities of the Belgium Presidency with the European Union and to the relations between the national parliaments from the Member States of the EU with the European Commission. 

Mr. Petar Pop Arsov, Chairman of the Committee on European Issues from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in his address underlined that:  

„ The key priority for the Republic of Macedonia is the uninterrupted process of the European Integration. The Republic of Macedonia is focused on two main directions: efficient enforcement of the reform process and maximizing the efforts for solution of the issue which was imposed by our Southern neighbor. The European Integration is the strong cohesive factor of the Macedonian multiethnic society and represents the consensus not only among the political entities but also of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia. The accession of the Republic of Macedonia to be seen in wider context, rather than through the prism of the progress in the process of solution of the issue. Of the progress for over bridging the differences in the name issue positions The integration of the Republic of Macedonia will have a positive influence on the regional stability and will function in direction of the peace and stability in Europe. “.

Mr. Oliver Chastel, State Secretary on European Issues of Belgium addressed before the Conference, and underlined the priorities of the Belgium Presidency with the EU and stated that Belgium is making efforts for the continuation of the Euro integrative process of the Republic of Macedonia during the Belgium Presidency and a parallel Euro integrative process of the Republic of Macedonia with the Euro-integrative process of Iceland.
