BILATERAL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI AND THE Speaker of the Council of State of the Swiss Parliament - Ms. Erika Forster-Vannini 

During the official visit of the Macedonian Delegation of Bern, Switzerland, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski and the Speaker of the Council of State of the Swiss Parliament - Ms. Erika Forster-Vannini had a bilateral meeting. 

The issues connected with the Euro-Atlantic process of the Republic of Macedonia and the name issue as well as the consequences of the economic crisis on the world economies were topics of the discussion during the meeting. Both sides underlined the importance of the cooperation between the two parliaments and the research support of the legislative work. 

The President Veljanoski expressed appreciation for the assistance in the establishment op the Parliamentary Institute in the Republic of Macedonia. 

„MPs are changing, but the Parliamentary Institute will remain and will be a testimony of our joint work with Switzerland”- underlined Mr. Veljanoski. 

In the end of the meeting, Mr. Veljanoski invited the Speaker of the Council of State of the Swiss Parliament - Ms. Erika Forster-Vannini to visit the Republic of Macedonia.  .

The parliamentary Institute will provide research and analytic services for the MPs and for the Service, aiming to promote the legislative and the scrutiny role of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the overall capacities of the Assembly. 

During the visit of Switzerland THE President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski is accompanied by the Mr. Jani Makraduli - Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, the MPs: Ms. Silvana Boneva, Mr. Tahir Hani, Ms.

Cvetanka Ivanova, Ms. Flora Kadriu, Ms. Roza Topuzova Karevska, Mr. Kenan Hasipi and Mr. Žarko Denkovski - Secretary General of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The overall Swiss donation for the Parliamentary Institute Project is 2, 5 million Euros.
