MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA, MS. SLAVICA GJUKIK DEJANOVIK

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski welcomed the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Slavica Gjukik Dejanovik in the framework of her official visit of the Republic of Macedonia.  

On the meeting the President Veljanoski underlined his appreciation of this visit of Ms. Dejanovik and concluded that the relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia are again on high and friendly level, as they were before, and underlined that the two states will have benefits and interest to continue to strengthen and intensify their mutual support in every area. 

The President Veljanoski emphasised the future priorities in the cooperation of both states regarding the plan of the Euro-integrative processes and underlined that the Republic of Macedonia openly supports the Republic of Serbia on its path towards the EU. The Republic of Macedonia is prepared to share its experiences with the Republic of Serbia and that “we are prepared to solve all open issues between the two states through an open and friendly dialogue”. 

„The Macedonian policy must be in direction and in the line of the policy of the EU and NATO, since this national interest of the Republic of Macedonia is supported by about 90% of the citizens. I hope that the Republic of Serbia will understand our policy and relations with the Region” underlined the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski. 

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Slavica Gjukik Dejanovik expressed her pleasure from this visit to the Republic of Macedonia, which, for her, is a close and friendly country, and underlined that in the future both countries will have opportunities to solve many good and common issues which are of mutual European interest.

The President Dejanovik underlined the importance of the parliamentary cooperation and expressed appreciation from the increased intensity of the communication between the two parliaments on very level. Both Presidents underlined the importance of the development of the parliamentary diplomacy, and shared the importance of mutual understanding and strengthening the national minorities that live in these two states.
