THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI MET THE VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL PEOPLE’S CONGRESS OF PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, MR. SANG GUOWEI
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, in the framework of the official visit of the high Delegation from the National Peoples Congress of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Macedonia, had a meeting the Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee, Mr. Sang Guowei.
The members of the Standing Committee of the National Peoples Congress of the People’s Republic of China: Mr. Sun Wensheng; Mr. Ren Maodong, Mr. Zhang Baijia and Mr. Li Manchang, as well as the Coordinators of the political parties: Ms. Silvana Boneva, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, Mr. Igor Ivanovski, Mr. Goran Misovski, Mr. Rejhan Durmishi and the MPs: Mr. Antonio Miloshoski, Mr. Aleksandar Spasenovski, Mr. Gordan Georgiev and Mr. Mende Dinevski attended the meeting.
The President Veljanoski expressed his appreciation for the welcoming and the honour for the Macedonian delegation during the visit to the People’s Republic of China last year, as well as a pleasure for the reciprocal visit, as a confirmation for the mutual preparedness for promotion of the relations and intensifying the dialogue and cooperation in every area of mutual interest.
The President Veljanoski underlined that the relations between the Republic of Macedonia and People’s Republic of China are being developed in the spirit of friendship, mutual understanding and respect of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and equality of both states and that the Republic of Macedonia and its citizens appreciate the principle position of People’s Republic of China regarding the recognition of our constitutional name and the provided support. In the same time he expressed his conviction that the intensification and the promotion of the political relations will highly benefit the citizens, broadening and strengthening the economic cooperation. He also stated that the Republic of Macedonia is strongly interested in higher forms of economic cooperation, transfer of technologies and presentation to third markets.
Additionally, the President Veljanoski expressed appreciation for the opportunity provided by People’s Republic of China, for the Republic of Macedonia to participate in the world exhibition Shanghai EXPO 2010 and to present its rich historical and cultural treasure to the world, as well as to present the process of building the modern society on the basis of the achievements in the area of economy, science and technology.
The Vice-Chairman of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Sang Guowei, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to visit the Republic of Macedonia extended the greetings from the President of People’s Republic of China, Mr. Hu Jintao and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Mr. Wu Bangguo.
Mr. Guowei underlined the importance of the last year’s visit of the Macedonian Delegation to the People’s Republic of China, headed by the President Veljanoski, in direction of approximation and promotion of the relations between the two legislative houses and expressed his conviction that this visit will also contribute for the continuity of the good relations between the two countries, which are being constantly progressing.
He expressed appreciation for the fact that these two countries enjoy the sincere and open friendship between their nations, as well as pleasure from the respect among these states and the mutual support for issues of mutual interest. In this light, he underlined that the People’s Republic of China highly appreciates the determination and the position of the Republic of Macedonia regarding the issue of One China.
Mr. Guowei underlined that the People’s Republic of China understands the need and the wish the Republic of Macedonia to use its constitutional name and underlined that the issue with the southern neighbour can be solved only through a constructive dialogue, as well as that the People’s Republic of China’s position is that every country, big or small, rich or poor, more or less powerful is equal before the international organizations.
The Republic of Macedonia received a donation from the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China as a sign of mutual friendship and respect.
During the visit to the Republic of Macedonia, the Delegation from the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China will have meetings with the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Gjorge Ivanov and the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Nikola Gruevski.
