SECOND DAY OF THE CONFERENCE OF THE SPEAKERS OF THE PARLIAMENTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION MEMBER AND CANDIDATE COUNTRIES
The second day of the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the European Union member and candidate countries is dedicated to the consequences of the global economic crisis, stability of the Euro, and the role of the parliaments if the field of European economic governance and recovery.
The President of the Macedonian Assembly took part in the debate. In his speech he informed the participant about the model with which Macedonia addressed the consequences of the global economic and financial crisis.
In the framework of the Conference President Veljanoski had bilateral meetings with several of his colleagues - the Presidents of the Parliaments of Malta, Monte Negro, Slovenia, Turkey, Austria and the Netherlands. President Veljanoski also proposed holding a meeting with the President of the Greek Parliament Mr. Philipos Petsalnikos dedicated on the parliamentary cooperation, but the Greek side did not show interest for the meeting.
At the end of the first day of the Conference H.E. King Albert II of Belgium organized a reception for the Speakers of the European parliaments.
