Meeting of the President Veljanoski and the rapporteur of the monitoring mission of the Parliamentary assembly of the council of europe for the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Robert Walter
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, expressing appreciation form the meeting, underlined that the fulfilment of the obligations and the efforts towards the Council of Europe are essential for the creation of the democratic society, and the Council of Europe’s recommendations for the Republic of Macedonia are always an expression for democratic development, and the Republic of Macedonia pays great attention thereof.
The meeting also referred to the functioning of the Parliament, the President Veljanoski underlined that the Report noted the constructive atmosphere in the parliament, which continuously supports the process of accession in the European Union. In this context, Mr. Walter underlined the positive achievements of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, which resulted in positive remarks in the Progress Report on the Republic of Macedonia.
The Rapporteur was also interested in the issues regarding the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, the situation of the media and issues of the present functioning of the parliament.
Both interlocutors expressed appreciation from the meeting, hope that the good cooperation will continue, as well as conviction that the Republic of Macedonia will finalize the post- monitoring dialogue with the PA CE in near future.
