THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI, MET WITH THE SUPPORTERS OF THE INITIATIVE FOR ESTABLISHING THE GROUP FOR COOPERATION BETWEEN THE PARLIAMENT OF VICTORIA AND THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, met with the Members of Parliament who supported the initiative for establishing the group for cooperation between the Parliament of Victoria and the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia - Mr. Andrew Elsbury who initiated the establishing of the Group for Cooperation, and Ms. Colleen Hartland who supported the initiative.

Both sides agreed that the relations between the State of Victoria and the Republic of Macedonia are excellent and growing steadily, and that the inter-parliamentary relations between the State of Victoria and the Republic of Macedonia are satisfactory. However, there are possibilities for intensification of the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two parliaments on all levels. In this direction is the initiative for establishing a group for cooperation between the State of Victoria and the Republic of Macedonia.

Mr. Andrew Elsbury said that he will continue the consultations with the chairmen of the Parliament of Victoria and seek advice and opinion from the Parliament of Western Australia which has already established a parliamentary group for cooperation with the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

"At the moment, we are seeking ways how to realise the initiative in due time”, pointed out Mr. Elsbury.
