MEETING OF THE DELEGATION OF THE COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN POLICY WITH MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS 
 
Delegation of the Committee on Foreign Policy visiting Washington, composed of Mr. Antonijo Milososki, Mr. Igor Ivanovski, Ms. Meshira Imeri and Mr. Pavle Sazdov, yesterday had e meeting with members of the United States Congress: Mr. Bill Pascrell, Mr. Alcee Hastings, Mr. David Dreier, and Ms. Candice Miller.

The Macedonian parliamentarians and their America counterparts discussed, among other things, the possibility for integration of the Republic of Macedonia into NATO, emphasizing our commitment to this process, the reforms and the participation of Macedonian soldiers in the NATO missions. They also discussed the ruling of the International Court of Justice as one of the main arguments for accession of the Republic of Macedonia into the Alliance.

The Macedonian Delegation and the members of the United States Congress also had a meeting with the Ambassadors of the Adriatic-5 Group. The Ambassadors expressed the support of their countries for the membership of the Republic of Macedonia into NATO, and the Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Policy, Mr. Antonijo Milososki used the possibility to present the arguments in support of the Republic of Macedonia becoming a member of NATO.

Later, the Delegation from the Assembly met with representatives of the United Macedonian Diaspora who presented their efforts for promotion of the interests of the Republic of Macedonia and of the aspirations to join NATO.

During the visit, the parliamentarians also met with the representatives of the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
