MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AND THE TURKISH-MACEDONIAN GROUP FOR FRIENDSHIP OF THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY

At the meeting with the Parliamentary Group for Friendship from the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski underlined the continuity of the highly developed bilateral relations, both, in the area of politics and in the area of economy. 

He emphasised the appreciation for the support of the Republic of Turkey in the EU and NATO integration of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as conviction that Turkey, as our true friend will continue this strong and principle support in the future, especially during the NATO Summit in Chicago, on which we expect to become full-fledged Member of NATO.

Regarding the economic cooperation, the President Veljanoski underlined the positive tendency in the area of economy.
Also, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski referred to the role of the Turkish ethnic community in the Republic of Macedonia, that is loyal to the state and that is the bridge in the bilateral relations between the two friendly states.

The Chair of the Interparliamentary Group for Friendship of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Hüseyin Bürge, conveying the best wishes of the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Cemil Çiçek, underlined that the highly developed relations between Turkey and Macedonia are very important.

The support from the Republic of Turkey for the Republic of Macedonia, on parliamentary level, and on the level of other institutions will continue since the Republic of Macedonia is an important factor for the stability of the Region and wider.

He expressed his conviction that the bilateral relations will be further developed in all areas of cooperation, and hope that this year the economic cooperation will surpass 1 billion dollars, as the Prime Minister of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan promised.
