THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI HAD A MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO, MS. ATIFETE JAHJAGA 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski and the Members of the Delegation had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Atifete Jahjaga. 

The President Veljanoski underlined the positive tendency of the bilateral relations between the two states in all areas, stating that the visit of the Macedonian delegation will provide a positive impetus for the development of the relations between the two states.

The good neighbourly relations between the two states contribute in the overall stability of the region and its Euro-Atlantic perspective- underlined the President Veljanoski.

Referring to the Euro-Atlantic integration, the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is prepared to share the experience with the MPs from kosovo, and the Republic of Macedonia is prepared to assist the integration of the Republic of Kosovo in EU and NATO in all segments- underlined the President Veljanoski.

The Republic of Macedonia has fulfilled the conditions for membership in NATO, and also the last three consecutive Progress Reports on the Republic of Macedonia contain recommendation for opening accession negotiations. 

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Atifete Jahjaga, reminding that the Republic of Macedonia was among the first states that recognised the independence of Kosovo, underlined that there are no open political issues between the states.

I am pleased that today we are intensifying the cooperation between the two parliaments. In this way, we are not only intensifying the bilateral relations, but also, or experience will benefit our Euro0- integration processes. I am convinced that the Euro- Atlantic integration is the only future for the whole region- underlined Ms. Jahjaga.
