ADDRES BY ADEMI AT THE WORKSHOP: “THE ROAD OF NORTH MACEDONIA TO THE EU”

The Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Arber Ademi, participated at the workshop organized by the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” (IDSCS) in cooperation with Mr. François Lafond, Adviser at the SEA, and addressed at the session “The Road of North Macedonia to the EU”, after the European 2021, the challenge called European Union. In his address, Mr. Ademi discussed on the parliamentary dimension of the Euro-integrative processes in the country, in the light of the recent developments after the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the EU on 17 November, where the Negotiating Framework was not approved.

In this regard, he underlined that the bilateral issues, such as in our case with neighboring Bulgaria, shall not be an obstacle for starting the negotiations for our membership in the European family. He emphasized that our country has a positive attitude for good neighborly relations with all neighbors, including the neighborly Bulgaria.

Also, Ademi stated that we shall look into the future and find solutions to all the problems, in order for our Euro-integrative process to go forward. Therefore, Ademi noted that we should accept our differences and find a way to move on, and to leave the past to the scientists who are not burden by the political issues and dynamics, in order to carry on their job with good will and faith by finding a mutual language to build a bridge in the divided history. At the workshop also addressed the Deputy – Prime Minister for European Affairs, Mr. Nikola Dimitrov, and the Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. David Geer and the Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic and representatives of state institutions at expert ranges, Think-Tank Community and the civil society.
