ADDRESS OF THE VICE PRESIDENT MISOVSKI AT THE 57th PABSEC GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Distinguished chair,
Dear colleagues,
Guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is my great honor and pleasure, on behalf of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on my personal behalf, to wish you successful work and fruitful discussions and to thank you for including us in the membership of this important organization.
I want to inform you that our Parliament will activate its membership starting from January 2022.
Dear friends,
From the very beginning, the BSEC and PABSEC has represented an independent attempt by the countries of the region to organize their mutual relations at a multilateral level and in the spirit of cooperativity and collegiality. Cooperation among the participants remains to be a major presumption for a successful political and diplomatic dialogue, for accelerating the process of the European integration, for strengthening the stability and economic ties in the region, as well as for the further democratization of our societies.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), undoubtedly provides new quality to the parliamentary diplomacy, and it is also an important factor in strengthening the cohesion, cooperation and communication between the countries of the region.
I believe that we have all learned the historical lesson that wars do not solve problems and issues, but above all dialogue and cooperation.
Dear colleagues,
The Parliamentary Assembly, since its establishment, has proved to be an important organizational form and I would add an effective tool in achieving the fundamental principles and values of the member states.
We, in the Republic of North Macedonia, are essentially working on fulfilling our goal - to bring European ideals, principles and standards closer to our country, but also to bring North Macedonia closer to Europe. We have a political consensus on this from all relevant political entities.
All this is a great motive but also an obligation for the current parliamentary majority and government to work with maximum commitment on the necessary reforms but also on overcoming all those open issues that burden bilateral relations with our neighbors and the region in general.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Based on all this, I am convinced that the PABSEC and other organizational forms, can help in finding the right answers and measures to the current geostrategic processes. Answers that will lead to the strengthening of the region, and each member country. At the same time, it will be our contribution to strengthening the place, position and role of the organization in the global geostrategic movements that are taking place worldwide.
Dear colleagues,
At the end, I would like to emphasize that we, the elected representatives, have the duty to promote citizens’ interests and to adopt effective and clear legislation that will benefit them.
The PABSEC, which relies on the pillars of regional ownership, solidarity and inclusion, is an excellent forum for exchange of opinions, common projects and sharing experiences and good practices.
