DIALOGUE FOR GREATER TRUST BETWEEN MACEDONIA AND BULGARIA IS NECESSARY

Increasing the communication in particular affairs on all levels, is of mutual interest of Macedonia and Bulgaria- this was underlined at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Minister on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kristian Vegenin.

The Chair of the Parliamentary Group, Mr. Ilija Dimovski, and the Members of the Group: Mr. Vasil Pishev, Mr. Gordan Georgiev, Mr. Save Marachkov, Mr. Naxhi Xhelili, Mr. Panche Orcev and Mr. Nexhati Jakupi, expressed pleasure from the meeting, underlining that the support from Bulgaria is very important for our country and that the Bulgarian experience should be used before and upon the Membership in the European Union.

The attendees agreed that the contacts between the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria are open and that eyes should not be shut before the problems, on the contrary, that they should be surpassed. Dialogue is necessary for the development of trust.

The infrastructure projects are significant, but they should not be isolated. The economic cooperation is on the satisfying level, but there is unused potential. The more frequent communication between the Governments, the Academies of Science and Arts should be recognized, but the door for communication between MPs should be opened, the cooperation between universities, chambers of commerce, civil associations, sport clubs, cultural institutions should be increased... this will eliminate every distrust between the states.
The role of the media in the communication between the two states was evaluated as very important.

During his first visit in 2014, the Minister Vegenin wished us less parliamentary problems, underlining that the good cooperation between the governing and opposition parties is very important. He also openly invited the Macedonian Delegation to visit Bulgaria in very near future.
