MEETING OF NIKOLOSKI WITH DAVID GEER, HEAD OF THE DELEGATION OF THE EUROPEAN UNION
The Chair of the National European Integration Council, today, had a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the EU, H.E. David Geer.
At the meeting, Nikoloski informed on the composition of the National European Integration Council, the competences of the Council in compliance with the decision for its establishment, the inclusive character of the body which unites political and social stakeholders, and on the idea for the Council to build and maintain a consensus on the membership in the EU. In terms of meeting the necessary European standards for a full membership in the EU, Nikoloski expressed hope on the efficient and continuous cooperation with the official representatives of the EU. Regarding the upcoming period, in the context of European integration, Nikoloski presented an active agenda of the National European Integration Council.
The Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the EU, Н.Е. David Geer, congratulated Nikoloski on the appointment as the Chair of the National Integration Council and expressed support for the work of the Council. Mr. Geer underlined that the country should comprehensively and continuously mark progress in the necessary reforms for membership in the EU. He emphasized that EU remains committed to the enlargement process.
Chair Nikoloski and Ambassador Geer exchanged attitudes and opinions on the current developments in the country.
The interlocutors expressed pleasure from the realized meeting and committed to cooperate in the upcoming period,, which is also essential to the state and its European integration path.
