MEETING OF THE MP NIKOLOSKI WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF SLOVENIA
The Chair of the National European Integration Council, Aleksandar Nikoloski, had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, H.E. Milan Predan.
Nikoloski introduced the Ambassador to the competences and composition of the National European Integration Council, with the role which the Council has in the process of EU accession, consensual decision – making in the body, and to the activities of the Council in the upcoming period. The Chair of the Council expressed optimism for fruitful cooperation in the future and sharing the experiences that Slovenia has in the process of the accession negotiations.
Ambassador Predan congratulated the appointment of Nikoloski as the Chair of the Council and expressed support for this key body in the accession negotiations. In this regard, he underlined that Slovenia is willing to review all opportunities at expert level as well in order to help the work of the National European Integration Council, by sharing its own experiences with the European integration. He urged continuous implementation of the reforms in the state for a faster integration in the EU. Ambassador Predan informed that EU Enlargement will be a priority of the Slovenian Presidency with the EU, which Slovenia will take over from 1 July 2021.
President Nikoloski and Ambassador Predan discussed on current developments in the country, the EU perspectives of the Western Balkan countries, relations with neighbors, dealing with the consequences from the pandemics caused by COVID 19 etc.
