MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF JAPAN TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MRS. KEIHO HANEDA 

The President of the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, today met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Macedonia, Mrs. Keiho Haneda. 

President Xhaferi, at the very beginning of the meeting, expressed his pleasure and congratulated the first resident ambassador of Japan based in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia and expressed hope that now, even better conditions for deepening and intensification of the cooperation in all fields will be created. 

President Xhaferi underlined that, although the geographical distance of the two countries is big, still, the relations between both peoples are close and friendly and they should stay that way. 

"We expect that in the next period to follow, we will establish the parliamentary groups for cooperation, including the Kingdom of Japan, and to intensify the parliamentary cooperation as well as the overall political and economical relation between both countries," stressed the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Japanese Ambassador congratulated Mr. Talat Xhaferi on his election as a President of the Parliament and expressed her satisfaction regarding the friendship she had noticed among the Macedonian citizens.

She emphasised that there are a lot of things she needs to do during her term in this country and she expressed the highest interest related to enhancement of the economic cooperation and expressed her readiness to visit the free economic zones and to learn about the possibilities for development and mutual cooperation.   

At the end, both interlocutors expressed their hope for stabilisation and Euro Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia.
