In the Framework of the Fourth International Forum „Let My People Live!“ in Prague, the Czech Republic, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski participated in the Round Table for Presidents of Parliament, chaired by Mr. Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament.

The participants in the Round Table exchanged opinions on topics connected with the role and responsibilities of the politicians as well as the legislative mechanisms of their democratic societies in the fight against the anti-Semitism, racism, intolerance and hate speech.

The Presidents of Parliament reviewed the Declaration for Fight against anti – Semitism and Hate Crimes proposed by the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, Mr. Valeriu Stefan Zgonea.

The attendees agreed that it should be clear that the anti – Semitism and other shapes of hate crimes are problems of the societies which allow the demonstration thereof. That is why it is important for the Parliaments, Governments, international organization and civil societies to adopt “zero – tolerance” for these occurrences.

The 70th Commemorative Ceremony of the Holocaust was finalized with a Minute of Silence, broadcasted live from six symbolic locations and unveiling of the monument in Terezin, the Czech Republic created by Alek Veseli, famous Czech sculptor, remembering the victims of Shoah.
