THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WELCOMED THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. PETRIT BUSHATI   

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had a protocol meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Petrit Bushati. He welcomed the new Ambassador and wished him successful work. 

The Ambassador Bushati expressed appreciation for the meeting and the time for discussion and cooperation. He conveyed the greetings from the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania; the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania; the President of Albania and wished the President Veljanoski successful work in his mandate. 

The President Veljanoski underlined that the successful parliamentary cooperation between the two states and expressed his pleasure from the successful official visit to the Republic of Albania last year, underlining the efforts for intensification of the contacts, on the level of Presidents of Parliaments, as well as on the level of Committees and Parliamentary Groups for Cooperation.   

The Ambassador agreed that the Parliaments can always contribute in surpassing issues, assisting in the improvement of the relations between the two states. Also, Mr. Bushati expressed hope that the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta, will realize the reciprocal official visit to the Republic of Macedonia.  

The interlocutors agreed that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania have excellent bilateral cooperation, friendly relations and expressed their wish to continue this cooperation, through the realization of new project and exchange of ideas. The cooperation and the exchange of opinions are important on the path towards the European integration, as the only alternative for the courtiers of the Region. Regarding the European Integration, the President Veljanoski expressed sincere wishes that the Republic of Albania will soon receive candidate status.

The meeting also referred to the further development of the road and railway infrastructure, which is important for the successful connection of the two states, leading to more successful economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The project for construction of the highway Kichevo – Ohrid and Trebenishta – Kafasan was underlined as a significant project.
