VISIT OF THE DELEGATION OF THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP FOR COOPERATION WITH SOUTH EAST EUROPE FROM THE BUNDESTAG  

Delegation of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with South East Europe from the Bundestag had a meeting with the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Foreign Policy Committee and the Committee on European Affairs.  

The Delegation is comprised of: Mr. Peter Weiẞ, Mr. Josip Juratovic, Mr. Alexander Soronto Neu, Mr. Rudolf Heinz Wiese, Ms. Ute Elisabeth Finckh, as well as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Kristine Athauzer. 

The Chair of the Parliamentary Group, Mr. Antonio Miloshoski welcomed the guests and underlined the pleasure from the demonstrated interest and the visit, as well as hope that it is fruitful not only for the bilateral relations  between Germany and Macedonia, but also for our Euro – Atlantic aspirations.  

Ms. Nora Aliti, Deputy Chair of the Committee on European Affairs informed the guests on the competences and the work of the Committee.  She underlined that Macedonia cherishes the friendly relations with Germany.  

The Chair of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with South East Europe from the Bundestag, Mr. Weiẞ, expressed pleasure from the meeting as well as the continuation of the task to cherish the friendly relations towards South East Europe and Macedonia and promotion of the European integration processes.  

The interlocutors exchanges opinions on the current political developments in the state, the boycott of the Assembly by the opposition, the European integration path of Macedonia, as well as the name issue and the aim to resolve it as soon as possible.  

In regard with the economic cooperation, the investments from Western Balkan are important for Macedonia, since Germany is the number one trade partner of Macedonia.
