"CHILDREN'S PARLIAMENT" IN THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

The Parliamentary Institute of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for the first time organized the "Children's Parliament" for 89 pupils from 15 municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mr. Fabio Massimo Castaldo who participated in the Conference for Young Leaders, organized by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the European Parliament on youth political participation and youth policies with the Members of the Parliament from Western Balkans.

NATO PA President welcomes Skopje’s final adoption of constitutional name change

The President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Madeleine Moon (United Kingdom), welcomed the adoption by the National Assembly in Skopje of the constitutional amendments allowing for the change of the country’s official name.

Address of the President Xhaferi at the 64th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

At the beginning of my address, I would like to express my appreciation to the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Mrs. Rasa Jukneviciene, for supporting the Republic of Macedonia on its path towards the NATO Alliance, and to NATO for their engagement through delivering the invitation for membership of the Republic of Macedonia in NATO a few months ago. Particularly pleasing was the fact that in her work program, among other things, the policy of partnership and open doors was listed as a priority, namely, the membership of the Western Balkans states, Ukraine and Georgia in NATO. With your permission, I will make a small retrospective on our presence in the NATO Alliance.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Fabio Massimo Castaldo, who participated in the Young Leaders’ Conference organized by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the European Parliament, focused on the youth participation and the youth policies and attended by MPs from Western Balkan.

Address of the President Xhaferi at the Young Political Leaders Conference on topic "Impetus of political dialogue and consensus" 

I consider that the political dialogue and reaching a consensus are at the top of the values and standards which define the democratic environment and political culture of a society. At the same time, the extent to which these values and standards are applied is the basic measure of how democratic a government rules. The proper place or arena for political dialogue and reaching consensus is the Assembly itself.

Allow me, at the beginning to wish all our guests a pleasant sty in Skopje, at the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, and certainly to wish you a successful work at the Conference beginning today, and which according to the title "Bridging the gap" shall discuss on the High level dialogue on youth participation and youth policies with parliamentarians in the Western Balkans.

MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE AMBASSADOR CLEMENS KOJA, HEAD OF OSCE MISSION TO SKOPJE 

President Xhaferi congratulated the Ambassador Koja on the appointment and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation, taking into account his experience in the OSCE structures, as well as the great knowledge on the region.
