FIRST MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES
Today, the President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, had an informal meeting with the representatives of the media.
This was the first meeting within the new parliamentary composition, after the re-election of President Xhaferi, re-establishing the existing practice.
At the meeting, President Xhaferi briefed about the current and future activities of the Assembly; about convening the next plenary session whose agenda will include: the Draft-decision for the election of chairpersons, deputy chairpersons, members and their deputies of the committees of the Assembly, as well as the verification of the mandate of a Member of the Assembly.
In the coming period, a debate is expected on the five Decisions for determining a state of emergency, which were announced by President Pendarovski and which require a two-thirds majority.
At the meeting, President Xhaferi said that in a state of pandemic we must have an alternative – what, how and where in emergencies. There must be a procedure for a regular and a state of emergency, not excluding online work, as a last resort option, which requires some technical preparation and a suitable software.
Another regular meeting with media representatives is expected to be held by the end of the month.
