MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND H.E. CHRISTIAN THIMONIER
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, met today with the Ambassador of the French Republic, H.E. Christian Thimonier.
President Xhaferi expressed gratitude for the support of the French Republic in the efforts to meet the strategic priorities of the country and satisfaction with the fruitful bilateral cooperation. He informed about the upcoming activities of the Assembly of the Republic of 
North Macedonia regarding the election of committees, delegations and parliamentary groups for cooperation, as well as the adoption of legislation related to the European process, the fight against COVID-19 and efforts to eliminate the economic consequences of the pandemic.
Ambassador Thimonier congratulated Xhaferi on his re-election as President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and expressed confidence that the role and visibility of the Assembly, which is a 
key institution for successful functioning of the system, will continue to be strengthened in the future. He assessed that the parliamentary control is of great importance and expressed support for the work of the National Council for European Integration, where consensus should be reached on key issues in this process.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the continuity and deepening of the excellent cooperation between the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the National Assembly and the Senate of the French Republic, can greatly contribute to advancing the overall bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries. Emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, the interlocutors expressed hope that the agreed return visits of French parliamentarians to North Macedonia will be carried out as soon as health conditions improve.
