MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND H.E. MILAN PREDAN
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, met today with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Milan Predan.
On behalf of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Igor Zorčič, and on his own behalf, Ambassador Predan congratulated President Xhaferi on his re-election as President of the Assembly and for his contribution to stabilizing the situation in the country in recent years.
He stressed that the support the Republic of Slovenia continuously gives to the Republic of North Macedonia will continue in the future, and that Slovenia plans to organize an EU-Western Balkans conference within the Slovenian presidency of the Council of the European Union starting 1 July next year, demonstrating that the enlargement process and the membership of the countries in the region in the European Union is one of its main priorities.
President Xhaferi noted the excellent relations between the two countries and the intensity of visits, as another proof of the mutual interest in promoting bilateral cooperation. He also thanked the Republic of Slovenia for its support to our Euro-Atlantic integration process in the past decades.
The two interlocutors exchanged views on the current activities of the Assembly and the developments regarding the beginning of the negotiation process with the European Union, as well as the possibilities for enhancing the cooperation between the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.
