MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND H.E. VIOREL STĂNILĂ
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, had a farewell meeting today with the Ambassador of Romania, H.E. Viorel Stănilă.
President Xhaferi thanked for the cooperation with the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of North Macedonia and Ambassador Stănilă personally for his contribution to the Euro-Atlantic path of the country. He expressed satisfaction and stressed that the commitment and personal dedication of the Ambassador as a representative of the Embassy contributed greatly to the advancement of relations between the two countries and the mutual support on a bilateral and multilateral level. President Xhaferi underlined that, in the future, he will encourage both countries to continue working with the same intensity on a bilateral level and at the level of Cooperation Groups in the two legislatures.
Ambassador Stănilă thanked for the honour and opportunity for this farewell meeting in his capacity as Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of North Macedonia. He hailed the historic moments, the progress with NATO membership and the encouraging results for the start of negotiations with the European Union. He particularly emphasized that he will remember his mission in the Republic of North Macedonia as a period in which many key and important decisions were made for the country. He assessed the inter-parliamentary cooperation as very fruitful and expressed words of praise for President Xhaferi and his successful leadership of the Assembly in the previous, and in this term as well.
Ambassador Stănilă congratulated President Xhaferi on the implementation of the European agenda, the conduct of political dialogue with all parliamentary parties and his role as President of all Members of the Assembly. At the same time, he reaffirmed the strong support of Romania for the Republic of North Macedonia on its European integration path.
At the end of the meeting, President Xhaferi presented Ambassador Stănilă with a Certificate of Recognition for his engagement and wished him success in his future professional challenges.
