MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND Н.Е. MARIJA PETROVIĆ
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, met with the Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Marija Petrović.
Ambassador Petrović congratulated President Xhaferi on his re-election, with wishes for a successful mandate and fast and dynamic negotiations for membership in the European Union. She expressed hope that the open and friendly cooperation and exchange of high-level visits, which were intense in the past, will continue in the future. Ambassador Petrović also gave a brief overview of the political situation in Montenegro after the parliamentary elections.
President Xhaferi welcomed Montenegro's progress in the EU membership negotiations and expressed hope that the country would soon be able to finalize that part of the accession process. He stressed that 
he expects an intergovernmental conference between the European Union and the Republic of North Macedonia to be held by the end of the year, which would be an official start of membership negotiations.
President Xhaferi informed that, after the parliamentary elections held on 15 July 2020 and the formation of the parliamentary majority, the Assembly has established the working bodies, and soon the delegations in the international assemblies and the parliamentary groups for cooperation will be formed. In the end, he expressed confidence that the successful cooperation will continue in the future within the regional initiatives in which MPs from both countries participate.
