MEETING OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH MRS. GENOVEVA RUIZ CALAVERA, DIRECTOR FOR THE WESTERN BALKANS IN THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOR EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICY AND ENLARGEMENT NEGOTIATIONS
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi held a meeting with Mrs Genoveva Ruiz Calavera, Director for the Western Balkans in the Directorate general for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.
At the very beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Genoveva Ruiz Calavera expressed satisfaction that during her first visit to the Republic of Macedonia, she has the opportunity to firstly meet with the President of the legislature, Mr. Talat Xhaferi.
During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that the foreseen dynamics of the activities related to effective and efficient functioning of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is realised in executing its powers as legislature.
President Xhaferi once again underlined that the Parliament is becoming opened to the citizens and to civil society, committing himself to change the actual perception about the Assembly in a way for it to become a true corrector of the executive.
The Director for the Western Balkans in the Directorate general for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Mrs. Genoveva Ruiz Calavera, once again clearly stated the support of the European institutions towards the Republic of Macedonia on her path to Euro-Atlantic integrations.
European Union will monitor with prudence the democratic processes, rule of law as well as the reforms of the public administration and will continue being constructive critical in relation with the Euro integration processes of the country.
