Meeting of the President Xhaferi and Professor Ahmet Davutoglu, PhD 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the Former President of the 62nd, 63rd and 64th Government of the Republic of Turkey and MP from Konya, Professor Ahmet Davutoglu, PhD. 

Both sides expressed pleasure from the overall political relations between Macedonia and Turkey, which are on the highest level and in the spirit of traditional friendship, mutual understanding, tolerance and active cooperation.

The interlocutors underlined that the established and intensive relations open space for more intensive economic cooperation. The Republic of Turkey is significant partner of the Republic of Macedonia and the cooperation between the states is successful, characterized by positive tendencies and continuity. 

The meeting also referred to the fruitful cooperation in addition to the friendship, as well as the close cultural and historic ties. The good and friendly relations are reflected in the parliamentary cooperation, on bilateral level, between the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the Great National Assembly of Turkey, but also on the multilateral level, in the context of the international parliamentary assemblies.

Appreciation for the constant and constructive support of Turkey, as well as solidarity with the Republic of Macedonia in the framework of the Euro – Atlantic integration was underlined during the meeting. Referring to our strategic determination, the President Xhaferi underlined that the open and strong support of the Republic of Turkey for the integration of the Republic of Macedonia into NATO and the principle positions of the Republic of Turkey for the use of our constitutional name are also important. 

The interlocutors expressed hope that the good cooperation between the two states will continue in the future.
