Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Thomas Gerberich  

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, Thomas Norbert Gerberich.   

The President Xhaferi welcomed the traditionally close and continuous relations between the two states and Parliaments, expressing hope for intensification and deepening the cooperation in the future. Germany is our sincere friend that supports the Republic of Macedonia and its political life, as well as its Euro – Atlantic integration – underlined President Xhaferi. 

The Ambassador Gerberich welcomed the open doors policy of the state institutions and of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. He also expressed exhilaration from the prompt approach of the new leadership for solution of the issues in the foreign policy, especially in regard with the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Greece, congratulating, since, as he underlined, the Republic of Macedonia is comprehended as the engine in the region for movement of the cooperation among the neighbouring states. 

In the context of the implementation of the internal reforms which include establishment of conditions for realization, especially preconditions for preventing the youth to leave the state, Ambassador Gerberich offered financial and political support of the Republic of Germany for all reform processes in the Republic of Macedonia.  

The initiative pursuant to the Berlin Process for establishment of Youth Organization RIKO, located in Tirana was welcomed. It follows the French – German model, that aims through joint project to bring young people closer to start cooperating and surpass the prejudice, thus to build joint future of the region, that will lead to the prompt Euro – Atlantic integration.
