Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister on Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bexhet Pacolli  

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister on Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bexhet Pacolli, in the framework of his one - day official visit to the Republic of Macedonia. 

The President Xhaferi underlined that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo contribute in raising the neighbourly relations on the highest level, and the meetings are a confirmation of these efforts. 

He referred to the legislative basis between the two states, which needs to be broadened in near future by the ratification of bilateral agreements for facilitation of the overall relations.

The President Xhaferi expressed the overall preparedness of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for sharing the experience in the process of European integration with the colleagues from the Parliament of Kosovo and expressed hope that the Parliament of Kosovo will establish a Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia. 

The President Xhaferi informed the guest on the current political affairs in the state and the developments that followed the early parliamentary elections in December 2016.The Minister Pacolli expressed pleasure from the fact that he passed the border with macedonia using his ID Card only. Especially since this was his personal effort and determination in the short period of being the President of Kosovo.

Congratulating Mr. Xhaferi on the election of President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Pacolli expressed conviction that Mr. Xhaferi will practice the function with dignity and responsibility, and his multidimensional role and influence were evaluated as essential not only for the state but for the region as well.

Mr. Pacolli underlined the need for the Deputies of the Parliament of Kosovo to receive expertise from their colleagues, Members of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and urge the parliamentary cooperation to be developed regularly. 

The interlocutors confirmed the determination for more intensive economic cooperation and improvement of the connections in the infrastructure.
