Meeting of the president Xhaferi and the European Commissioner Hahn
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met the European Commissioner for Regional Policy and Enlargement negotiations, Mr. Johannes Hahn, who is visiting the Republic of Macedonia for two days.
At the beginning of the Meeting the President Xhaferi informed the European Commissioner on the current and upcoming activities in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia connected with the reform processes necessary for receiving a positive recommendation for opening accession negotiations with the European Union.
European Commissioner Hahn underlined that adoption of laws necessary for receiving a positive evaluation at the beginning of the next year is essential. He also welcomed the relations of the President of the Assembly with the opposition and the positive changes in the state in direction of drafting a positive Progress Report for the Republic of Macedonia.
At the end of the Meeting, the President Xhaferi expressed conviction that the Assembly will prioritize the adoption of the package of reform laws arising from Pribe’s Recommendations, by the end of the year
