Meeting of the President Veljanoski with NDI representatives  

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski met the Senior Member of the Directors' Board of NDI, Mr. Hauard Dean, the Regional Director of NDI for Central and Eastern Europe, Mr. Robert Benjamin and the NDI Director for Macedonia, Mr. Chris Henshaw. 

At the beginning of the meeting, the guests expressed appreciation for the meeting and the opportunity to discuss the cooperation between the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the National Democratic Institute. 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski  expressed pleasure from the determination of USA and the support for the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia through NDI. 

Mr. Hauard Dean, underlined that the Assembly implemented two major projects, such as the establishment of the Parliamentary Institute and the Scrutiny Debates, which are essential for the democracy and are focused on greater transparency of the work of the Assembly. 

Mr. Robert Benjamin underlined that through these projects Macedonia progresses and is a good example and exporter of projects and reforms for the Region and wider. 

The meeting also referred to the priorities of the Republic of Macedonia, the Membership in NATO and EU, as well as the contribution of the Macedonian soldiers in Afghanistan. The interlocutors also discussed the current political events in the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the political and economic affairs and Europe and wider.
